Onyeka on Palace radar

English Premier League side Crystal Palace are reportedly showing strong interest in Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka, as he nears the end of his loan spell at German Bundesliga side Augsburg.

The Nigerian star has had an impressive campaign in the Bundesliga, where he has played 29 games and has scored two goals for Jess Thorup’s troops.

He joined the German side from Brentford at the start of the current season.

According to Africa Foot, his performance has piqued the interest of Oliver Glasner, who is looking to bolster Palace’s midfield ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

The player is also reported to be keen on a Premier League return.

The 27-year-old joined Brentford from Midtjylland in 2021 and has made 67 appearances for the Bees.

However, he was sent on a shock loan to Augsburg at the start of the season.

The Abuja-born midfielder, who has 26 caps and one goal for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, has re-established himself with Augsburg after a challenging spell at Brentford, but it remains to be seen what the decision of the London club will be.
