Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye
Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is not asking for too much in the Serie A this season, as he hopes his Udinese side will finish the season in tenth position amid their recent poor run of form, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Udinese are yet to win any of their last five matches, losing four and drawing one.
Coincidentally, the dip in form began with the goalkeeper’s return to action in March. The 25-year-old was sidelined for about four months with a wrist injury.
As a result, they currently sit below Torino in 10th place on goal difference with six games to go.
The Super Eagles star has featured in 19 games, keeping three clean sheets.
“The goal is to maintain the tenth place, we need to regain our heads and strength. We are angry, but in the four defeats we had some opportunities, there are many things that we did well and we need to start again from those,” Okoye said via tuttoudinese.
Udinese have a decent fixture schedule, as they face Torino, Bologna, Cagliari, Monza, Juventus, and Fiorentina in their last six games.
Okoye’s season has been rocked by the injury he suffered and a recent betting allegation.
